A & M Engineering Services, Inc.
A & M Engineering
Services, Inc. provides home inspection services for residential and commercial
buildings in New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Home or building
inspections are usually performed by the potential buyer to determine the
condition of the property. These
inspections are limited to visual examination of the property, unless the
client calls a specific testing requirement. For example, radon testing,
in-ground oil tank testing, septic system and well water testing.
All inspections are performed by a licensed professional engineer in the state where the inspection is being performed. A licensed engineer can specify the corrective action for any identified problem. A home inspector is not allowed to specify certain corrective actions, i.e. structural repairs. A licensed professional engineer is required to have a college degree, have ten years of engineering experience and pass two national eight-hour exams. A home inspector, in most states, requires no previous experience or education. Membership in national organizations does not guarantee any experience and/or qualifications.
Radon testing must be
performed by a licensed radon technician or specialist in the state. A & M Engineering Services, Inc.
both provides the radon testing service and performs their own testing. Most companies send their radon testing
to a second party. A & M does
not provide radon mitigation (repair) service; therefore there is no conflict
of interests.
A & M Engineering
Services, Inc. provides expert witness services in the construction and
environmental fields.
