About Us
Michael S. Stocknoff, P.E, formed A & M Engineering Services, Inc. in 1991. Mike’s purpose was to perform home inspections and radon testing to potential home buyers and provide them with an honest assessment of the property they are considering purchasing. Mike believes that a home inspector should evaluate the property as if he was purchasing the property and provide recommendation for repairs that will fix a problem. The A & M Home Inspection Report is a detailed transcription of the inspection with a list a recommendations that include: Major Repairs, Minor Repairs, Maintenance Items and Cosmetics Items. No check lists are used. This provides a purchaser with a complete picture of the property. A & M also provides radon testing which is performed during the inspection period. If the property was found to have a level above 4.0 pCi/L, the seller would be responsible to install a radon mitigation system. A & M does not install radon mitigation systems, that way there is no conflict of interest. A & M provides mold testing which is recommended when there is visible mold or water issues. In the right condition mold can form in forty-eight hours. A & M will inspect the property and determine whether we would recommend mold testing. We would specify the type of testing and the location of the testing. A & M only does mold testing, since the industry standards specify that companies who do mold remediation should not do testing either before or after the remediation. A & M provides expert investigation, analysis, report and testimony is civil and insurance disputes. Our expertise includes: home inspections, mold, construction defects, and accident analysis such as trip and falls. A & M has also held the title of construction manager for large home construction and remodeling projects; such as installing vinyl siding on a 261 town home development. As construction manager A & M has written specifications, review payment requests and have performed studies to determine the cost benefit of projects. Mike has over 38 years of experience in construction and engineering.
